Kristy Harper

Childhood memories fused with a passion for house and techno can be seen in Kristy's live sets as she seamlessly weaves through the realms of disco, house and techno adding tropical elements from her travels.

Helping change the belt on her Dad’s turntable at 8 years old then at 13 inheriting his collection of records spanning disco, funk, afro disco and rock ‘n’ roll: it was clear – music was destined to be a big part of Kristy Harper’s life. After borrowing an old hard drive full of Chicago House and a controller from a friend she spent her breaks from working in a bar learning how to mix anything she could get hold of. These few months and a subsequent move to Berlin would spark her love of house and techno.

Childhood memories of Osibisa, Grace Jones and Larry Levan fused with a new passion for house and techno can be seen in her live sets as she seamlessly weaves through the realms of disco, house and techno adding tropical elements from her travels through South and Central America, Africa and the Caribbean.

With a regular show on Rotterdam’s Operator radio, guest mixes for Pioneer, Soho and Red Light Radio, a monthly radio show at East London’s Netil Radio, regular all night long vinyl sets at the legendary Brilliant Corners, and her powerful self-released track and video ‘Slut’, 2018 has been a busy year for Kristy.
