Pardafash

Pardafash’s solo live act is her interpretation of protest music through a combination of songs that are stories and spoken word monologues.

Pardafash (Sandhya Visvanathan) is a graphic designer and illustrator who moonlights as a vocalist-producer and songwriter. She frequently collaborates with artists from her music family – Bangalore based electronic music collective – Consolidate.

She was previously in Machli, a band that meshed together electronic beats and samples from Indian films, two acoustic guitarists and her own auto-tuned vocals to create their unique sound.

Pardafash’s solo live act is her interpretation of protest music through a combination of songs that are stories and spoken word monologues. She believes in using narrative electronic music to make a record of the time we live in. Pardafash’s debut EP will be released early next year.

"A Sensitive Plant in a garden grew, And the young winds fed it with silver dew, And it opened its fan-like leaves to the light. And closed them beneath the kisses of Night."
