Karenn

With Karenn, Pariah and Blawan turn their passion for synthesisers into a statement of principles, and return to the old school, analog sound in the form of raw, uncompromising techno

Karenn is a collaborative hardware techno project between UK underground provocateurs Pariah (Arthur Cayzer) and Blawan (Jamie Roberts). As labelmates on the legendary R&S imprint, Pariah and Blawan have pushed the boundaries of bass music, metamorphosing the genre with the steady grooves of house and techno. With Karenn, the duo turn their passion for synthesisers into a statement of principles, and return to the old school, analog sound in the form of raw, uncompromising techno.

Karenn’s live shows, thus, can usually be found full of cables, analogue gadgets and all sorts of knobs and buttons, which the duo use to deliver stripped-down, bewitching sets that ooze tense, ominous vibes and a dark atmosphere. Their sets are a force to be reckoned with – they possess that special flair that can instantly convert any room into a dungeon, and spark frenetic, harmonious chaos on the dancefloor.
