Tushar Bagla was introduced to hip-hop culture during his university days in the UK as an amateur B-boy, earning the moniker ‘PhreshPrince’ for being the only ‘FOB’ in the local dance scene. Immersing himself in cyphers and club nights, he developed a deep appreciation for hip-hop, R&B and soul music, which shaped his journey as a DJ.

PhreshPrince’s vinyl journey began as a student in Nottingham, where he picked up his first records and record player from a bargain bin. Today, he is a regular at Calcutta’s Vinyl Sunday sessions at Zee’s Coffeeshop, showcasing a collection spanning 90s and 00s hip-hop, R&B, and neo-soul, 70s and 80s soul, funk, and disco, as well as rare 60s and 70s Japanese jazz.
